Welcome to the website (“Site”) for Academic Directions Inc. (“Academic Directions”). This User Agreement, including our Privacy Policy, governs your use of the Site and the Academic Directions services.
Please read this User Agreement carefully, because by visiting or using the Academic Directions Site or the Academic Directions services, you agree to follow the Academic Directions rules and terms of use. From time to time we may modify these rules and terms of use. Your continued use of the Site and the Academic Directions services after any modification indicates your agreement to the new rules and terms of use.

Please review our Privacy Policy, which is a part of this User Agreement and describes how Academic Directions handles any personally identifying information collected from visitors to the Site. Academic Directions Inc. (Academic Directions) takes your privacy seriously. We know you trust us to help with your college financial aid process and we want you to know that you can trust us with your personal information.

This Site and all materials included therein are owned by or licensed to Academic Directions and all rights are reserved. You must abide by all copyright notices and restrictions contained on this Site. You may not copy, distribute, enter into a database, display, perform, create derivative works of, transmit, or otherwise use any materials from this Site (including computer programs or other code) (“Site Materials”), unless we have specifically authorized you to do so in writing, and then only for personal, non-commercial use, and only if you do not alter the text or remove any trademark, copyright, or other notice displayed on the Site Materials.
TRADEMARKS
ACADEMIC DIRECTIONS, is a trademark owned by Academic Directions Inc. (the Trademark”). You may not use the Trademark in connection with any product or service that does not belong to us, or in any manner that is likely to cause confusion among users about whether we are the source, sponsor, or endorser of the product or service, or in any manner that disparages or discredits us.
ROUTINE INFORMATION COLLECTION
All web servers track basic information about their visitors. This information includes, but is not limited to, IP addresses, browser details, timestamps and referring pages. None of this information can personally identify specific visitors to this site. The information is tracked for routine administration and maintenance purposes.
COOKIES AND WEB BEACONS
Where necessary, AcademicDirections.com uses cookies to store information about a visitor’s preferences and history in order to better serve the visitor and/or present the visitor with customized content.
Advertising partners and other third parties may also use cookies, scripts and/or web beacons to track visitors to our site in order to display advertisements and other useful information. WHY WE NEED YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION
Academic Directions personalizes your financial aid counseling experience. Accordingly, we need to collect some personal information from you to communicate more effectively with you. Here are some of the things we need your personal information to be able to do:
- Make your counseling sessions more personalized
- Send you newsletters by mail or email about our service
- Ask you for your feedback to help make our service better
- Respond to your email requests for information and/or customer service You trust us with your personal information and we do everything we can to make sure your information is safe in our systems.
Some things we will NOT do are:
- We WILL NOT sell your personal information to anyone
- We WILL NOT send you promotional mail if you tell us not to – You Control Your Personal Information
If you are under age 13, a law called the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) says that we must have a parent’s permission before we may collect and use your Personal Information. Note to parents if children under the age of 13: You are welcome to call us at 215-579-8281 to review any identifiable information we have collected about your child. If you desire, you may request that we delete this information and/or specify that we collect no more of your child’s information. Please note that we will need to verify the identity of anyone requesting information about a child to ensure that the person is in fact the child’s parent or legal guardian, and that a request for us to delete all personal information about a child requires us to cancel the child’s financial aid counseling account.
If your parents/guardians and/or your school pay for or subsidize the cost of your financial aid counseling, we may share your personal information with them at their request. This includes the content created by you throughout the Academic Directions sessions. If you choose not to share certain confidential information that you create within the Academic Directions counseling session with your parents or guardians, we will not share your Personal Information with them. We May Share Your Personal Information For Safety Reasons
If we have reason to believe that disclosing your Personal Identification is required by law, or is otherwise reasonable to protect someone from possible injury, we may do so. Transfer to the United States If you are located outside of the United States, please note that the personal data you provide to us will be transferred to the United States. Whenever you submit any personal data to us, you consent to this transfer.
COOKIES
Cookies are files that your Web browser puts on your computer when you visit a Web site. We use cookies to tell us how often you visit our site, and what pages you go to on our site. The cookie itself does not have personal information in it, so no one except Academic Directions can figure out who you are from our cookie. Sometimes we use files from other companies (called third-party cookies) to help us see where people go on our website, to improve our services. You may link to the Site as long as the link does not cast us in a false or misleading light, provided, that we reserve the ability at our sole discretion to revoke your right to link to the Site. You may not frame the content of the Site. You may not use meta-tags or any other “hidden text” that incorporates the Trademark or our name without our express written consent.

You represent that you will complete all requested information in the Academic Directions services truthfully to the best of your knowledge.
DISCLAIMER AND LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
THIS SITE AND THE INFORMATION, CONTENTS, GRAPHICS, DOCUMENTS AND OTHER ELEMENTS INCLUDED HEREIN (COLLECTIVELY THE “CONTENTS”) ARE PROVIDED ON AN “AS IS” BASIS WITH ALL FAULTS AND WITHOUT ANY WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. ACADEMIC DIRECTIONS HEREBY DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES AND CONDITIONS WITH REGARD TO THE SITE CONTENTS, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION, ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES AND CONDITIONS OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. THE ADMISSIONS/FINANCIAL AID PROCESSES ARE OFTEN ARBITRARY AND ACCORDINGLY IT IS EXPRESSLY AGREED THAT ACADEMIC DIRECTIONS IS IN NO WAY LIABLE FOR ANY DECISION MADE BY AN ADMISSIONS/ACADEMIC/FINANCIAL AID COMMITTEE.
GOVERNING LAW
This User Agreement will be governed by the laws of the State of Pennsylvania applicable to contracts made and performed there without regard to its conflicts of law principles. You agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts sitting in the State of Pennsylvania and Bucks County and waive any jurisdictional, venue, or inconvenient forum objections to such courts.
TERMINATION
We reserve the right to suspend the Site or your use of the Site or terminate this User Agreement at any time without notice for any reason, including, in the case of the User Agreement, for your violation of any of its provisions. The Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability and Governing Law sections of this User Agreement shall survive any such termination.
